The Humble Indie Bundle *CLICK ME*

SIX indie game companies are teaming up for the ultimate indie game bundle deal.

UPDATE: The bundle now includes one new game: Samorost 2!

SIX games, pay what you want:

World of Goo
Aquaria
Gish
Lugaru HD
Penumbra: Overture
Samorost 2

"Pay what you want. If you bought these five games separately, it would cost around $80 but we're letting you set the price!"

All of them are DRM-Free. And the best part is that you get to split the money between the developers and two charities; the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play.

  1. 1. Choose any amount of money, in USD.
  2. 2. Choose your preferred payment processor: PayPal, amazon.com or Google Checkout.
  3. 3. Choose how you would like to divide up your contribution:

Then just go through the payment process, and you're done! A download link for all SIX games is emailed to you. You now have SIX new games, and your money has helped a noble cause regardless of who you choose to send your money to.

All SIX games are cross-platform, meaning they will run on Windows, Linux or Mac!

And I already personally own two of the games (World of Goo and Penumbra), and I have so say that they are FANTASTIC. DON'T miss this sale!

Ends Monday, May 10th at Midnight. (Tuesday morning at 12:00 A.M.)

UPDATE:

Quote:
Humble update: open source extension (5/11/10)

The Humble Indie Bundle experiment has been a <cowboy> success beyond our craziest expectations. So far, in just over 7 days, 127,039 generous contributors have put down an incredible $1,164,978. Of this, contributors chose to allocate 30.90% to charity: $360,032 for the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Child's Play Charity. I have made a page for the full breakdown including credit card fees in a JSON format here (json).

Now it's our turn to give back. As of 5/11/10, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD, and Penumbra Overture pledge to go open source. We are preparing the sources right now and will be releasing them ASAP. We spent last night preparing Lugaru and it is available now. The code is still a little rough (no Visual Studio project yet, for instance) but hopefully with the help of the community we can rapidly make it more accessible to everyone.

Note, the games will be "free as in 'free speech', not as in 'free beer'": see each license for the full, finalized details as they come out very hopefully this week -- stay tuned. It is the underlying code that will be made available to everyone.

Feel free to continue donating to charity, to the developers, or any combination thereof below. We will still be distributing humble bundles to anyone who contributes.

OVER ONE MILLION DOLLARS RAISED! This is an incredible victory for independent game developers and the charities alike.

Four of the games will soon become open-source.

I beat Penumbra: Overture last night....

I have to say, I have never been more terrified in my life.

I have never played/read/watched anything more horrifying and immersive than Penumbra.

It is a game that really makes you want to just sit in a corner until the danger <cowboy>, because it does such a good job of providing an excellent and terrifying environment.
